Crazy the things we find in our parents home after

Crazy the things we find in our parents home after they pass! My Mom passed 25 years ago and of course Moms save all the photos and what we think of as sentimental stuff. However, going through my Dads bedroom it was so touching to see all that he saved. So many photos, bday cards and more.
At the service the Rabbi described my Dad as a certain type of fruit, I’m forgetting, but prickly on the outside and sweet on the inside.

This was me, young, pursuing my singing career, with a silly stage name, thinking Cohen was too Jewish. My Dad had saved a stack of these.

Been MIA for a while as this past week my Dad pass

Been MIA for a while as this past week my Dad passed away at 98 years old. Many of you knew of my Dad and his career in the garment center, working full time till he was 95.

The past few weeks were tough but it was time to let go. My Dad was a very private man so I won’t share photos, however this photo of me holding his hand in the hospital just the other day is a moment I’ll never forget.

It seems so many people have a Gavin story including me. I did not know Gavin but I was in NY Sept 2017 and treated myself to seeing Hello Dolly! I remember the ticket was $500 and I didn’t know what to do but I really wanted to see Bette Midler in the role. Went by myself and it was really Gavin that blew me away.
After the show feeling like a teenager I waited outside the stage door to meet him. We have some mutual theatre friends so I figured that was my way to greet him without feeling foolish.

So here’s the photo. He was so charming, huge smile, we chatted about our friends, and I was on my way.
I have spent the past 24 hours watching every post shared and feeling so sad at this enormous talent gone way too soon

I pray he didn’t suffer too much and is at peace now. Thx for all the beautiful songs you’ve left us. We will treasure them forever!

As a stylist I love people watching! What people are wearing!
It’s only Fashion if it’s being worn on the streets, not just the runway!
I believe Oscar de la Renta said that.

The fashion Gods tell us skinny jeans, slim, is OUT! The fuller pant is the pant right now! The big chino etc.
Well my friends: reality check.
Uptown, downtown, Penn Station. I saw mostly straight leg, (my go to) slim and skinny jeans everywhere and every upscale retailer is still selling slim jeans! Best with a white sneaker, these were cool NY guys.
I finally found one guy in a wide track pant but it was a challenge to find.

My fav pant is the white Levi work type pant. Bit fuller leg but classic.

Thought this was a fun post being it’s Fashion Week in Milan.
Im often asked which is my favorite shoot? Impossible question to answer. I’ve styled so many shoots with both models and celebrities and most were wonderful. Would be easier to tell you the few that weren’t fun, lol.

I thought this was a great follow up to my last post!
What I find amazing is this was Spring 2018 and looks as current today! Take a good look. A brown DB tuxedo jacket, worn over a tank and pleated pant!! Yes… tho we think Fashion changes and moves faster these days 6 years later we are seeing pleated pants on every collection, and the tank under a tuxedo has become a look we see on every actor-every red carpet!

A fan since he began, a graduate of the school of Ralph, then Todd gave us the famous J Crew Ludlow suit, the collection evolves and is Chic with a capital “C”
Giving us a bit of 1980’s Armani and Calvin slouch, my fav word in the fashion world, soft suits, unbuttoned, layered, almost all with sandals, styled perfectly by @jimmooregq
I’m just a bit sad that at 5”9 sometimes I’m lost in these fluid soft looks. Typically Todd has many options in his stores so hoping I can do a slimmer pant with these looks and just as cool.
